Invisalign Malaga

Invisalign are invisible braces and it has been released for some years now. We want to answer the questions that some patients have asked about this technique.

It is a transparent, comfortable and removable orthodontic treatment that, through a series of aligners made to measure, the teeth of each patient can be aligned and leveled, transforming the smile.
These aligners are usually very comfortable and do not interfere with daily life, need a minimum of 20 hours of use everyday.
Once the first visit is done and the diagnostic records are made, it is necessary to take an impression or measurement of the patient’s mouth with a special material or scan the teeth which will help us to generate a virtual three-dimensional model with a Treatment plan that will be approved by the Orthodontist and at the same time shown to the patient for his approval.
When this treatment plan is accepted, the manufacture of the aligners begins. It will be numbered from beginning to end, and will be installed by the Orthodontist and changed every two weeks. That means that every 15 days we will have new aligners, which will be completely transparent and force the necessary tooth movements, gradually, for the correction of the smile, seeing day by day the changes, straightening the teeth until the final correction.
Transparent aligners treat a wide range of bad occlusions from small tooth movements to more complex cases:
• The best example is in the dental crowding either by received from previous orthodontics or by lack of space in the upper jaw or lower jaw.
• In case of diastemas or separated teeth, this technique uses to work very well closing the spaces completely.
• With bites when the anterior and upper teeth cover the lower teeth
The length depends on each patient and the type of bad occlusion. Some treatments can last only 6 months and some a little more complex over 1 year.
There is no age limit to perform this type of treatment, although as an Orthodontist we advise this treatment in adults because of the care that must be taken with aligners and hours of use.
Invisalign aligners are transparent. No one will notice that you wear these virtually invisible aligners, which makes Invisalign seamlessly adapted to your lifestyle and your daily relationship with others.

The Invisalign aligners, as discussed above, are removable. In contradistinction to fixed metal appliances, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of eating and drinking what you want during the treatment just removing the aligners. You can also remove the aligners to brush your teeth and floss as you normally would to avoid halitosis and maintain proper oral hygiene.

Unlike traditional fixtures, there are no metal brackets or wires. This means that, in most cases, you have to spend less time in the clinic of your Invisalign Provider to make necessary adjustments during treatment.

Finally, Invisalign allows you to see your results and virtual treatment plan even before you start treatment, so you can see what your teeth are expected to look like when treatment ends.

The citation period is generally the same as in the case of traditional fixed devices, although appointments are shorter.
The fact of spending less time in the chair of the dentist or orthodontist is explained because it is not necessary to make adjustments to the wires and / or brackets. It is normal for patients to go to their dentist every 4 to 6 weeks to make sure that the treatment progresses as planned, as well as to receive the following sets of Invisalign aligners, although it will be your specialist who decides this, based on your treatment.
Some people may feel a little temporary discomfort during the first few days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment, by putting on a new aligner. This is normal and is usually described as a feeling of pressure. It is the sign that the aligners are working well, moving your teeth gradually and helping you achieve the desired final result. These discomforts usually disappear in a couple of days.
The use of retainers after orthodontic treatments is an important phase as they maintain the stability of the teeth in the new position. If you want your teeth to stay in the ideal position, it is best to wear a retainer as ordered by your orthodontist. In many cases, the last aligner will be your temporary retainer until your dental final position is determined.
The best way to clean the aligners is by brushing and washing them in warm water or by using Invisalign cleaning crystals or special tablets for cleaning. To maintain proper hygiene it is important that you brush your teeth after each meal and before putting the aligners back on.
