Invisible Orthodontics

Invisible orthodontics is a series of removable and invisible aligners that are custom made for each patient with a transparent plastic material. These move the teeth to the desired position progressively. An aligner can move one or several teeth and must be changed every two weeks to make the intended movements.

For this treatment we apply the latest 3D technology through specialized software, being more precise than other systems.

Benefits for your health

The greatest benefit of orthodontics is not only aesthetics, as the care and alignment of the teeth affect the health of the patient, but also has a preventive function on teeth and gums.

The dental crowding is one of the main dental problems, causing the appearance of cavities, periodontal disease, masticatory alterations, headache and even reduce the patient’s self confidence by not being happy with his smile.

The invisible, removable orthodontic allows the patient to maintain good oral hygiene avoiding or reducing the possibility of problems of cavities or gums.

It helps to improve the temporomandibular joint (it is the joint that makes it possible to open and close the mouth), reducing the discomfort in patients, as well as the possibility of functional problems, caused by poor alignment of the teeth.

It solves malocclusion (the way the upper and lower teeth fit together), diastema closure, rotations, angulations and displacements.

Stages

  • Analyze and evaluate your case.
  • Confirmation that you can undergo invisible orthodontic treatment.
  • Making impressions or scanning of your teeth, which will be sent to the laboratory to develop the planning of your treatment.
  • Information about the duration of the treatment, delivering the aligners to be placed at each stage of treatment.
  • Use orthodontics as long as possible. You should only remove it during meals and brushing your teeth.

Advantages

  • Comfortable: Invisible orthodontics allows you to speak comfortably, without scrapes or wounds.
  • Discreet: They are transparent, so no one will notice you are wearing them, without feeling the need to hide your smile.
  • Hygienic: Being removable allows a complete cleaning of your mouth, without running the risk of holding food.
  • Practical: Meal time will not be a torture, unlike braces, you can remove the aligners to eat, drink and brush your teeth.

Aesthetic brackets

Braces can be constructed of various types of materials: ceramic and sapphire. The main advantage of aesthetic braces is that they are made of materials very similar to the color of the teeth and therefore go unnoticed. They are indicated in patients with high aesthetic demands.

Ceramic braces lead a longer time of treatment due to the friction between them and the arc. For this reason, we work with ceramic braces with metal groove, so we eliminate the time disadvantage of the treatment.

Sapphire braces are the latest generation in aesthetic braces. Their main advantage is that they are made of monocrystalline ceramic, they provide an optimal aesthetic and are very resistant to fracture.

Convencional Braces

They are the most common type of braces. They are resistant, safe and reliable. We have “mini” braces that are smaller in size than traditional metal braces.

In order to make a correct and individualized diagnosis of orthodontics of each patient we need a previous study. We analyze the facial proportions, the smile, took models of study, radiographs and photographs both intraoral, face and profile of the patient. With all this information we can offer a diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan for each patient.

CARE OF THE PATIENT IN ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

Orthodontists are aware of the sacrifice for the patient to wear orthodontics, but we also know that the effort will have been worth it when the patient sees the new smile. For this reason it is essential that the patient collaborates and has excellent hygiene. There are toothpastes, brushes, mouthwashes and specific floss for orthodontics.

It is also essential to incorporate certain good habits during treatment, such as ceasing onicofagia (biting nails) if there was, nibbling pens, eating chewing gum, dried fruits and hard things in general.

Otherwise, the braces would fall down, lots of complications and the treatment will be prolonged over time. It is important to increase the frequency of visits for cleaning and maintenance of gums, since having braces it is more difficult to brush and the patient is more prone to developing a gingivitis. Therefore, our recommendation is to have a professional oral cleaning at least every 5-6 months.
