At Crooke & Laguna Dental Clinic we have a team specialized in the latest Orthodontic advances, such as Invisible Orthodontics or Sapphire Braces. Our team will restore the morphological and functional balance of your mouth, improving your health and the general aesthetics of your smile.

Orthodontics with braces
Conventional Braces
Conventional braces or metal braces are the most common type, these braces are resistant and safe. You have them in various sizes, such as the “mini” size, which is smaller than traditional metal braces. It is the orthodontics that is normally used in children and adolescents since they are usually less responsible for fulfilling the necessary hours with an invisible aligner.
It is also the orthodontics indicated in some cases where the necessary anchorage to move the teeth is high, for example to pull canines included in the palate.

Aesthetic braces
Ceramic Braces
We work with ceramic braces with metal grooves, to avoid the friction produced by conventional ones, so we shorten the treatment that conventional ceramic braces entail.
Sapphire Braces
Sapphire braces are the latest generation in aesthetic braces. Their main advantage is that they are constructed of monocrystalline ceramic, so that they provide optimal aesthetics and are highly resistant to fracture.
Invisible orthodontics
Invisible orthodontics consists of a series of removable and invisible aligners made for each patient with transparent plastic material. These move the teeth to the desired position progressively. An aligner manages to move one or more teeth and they must be changed every 10-15 days to carry out the intended movements.
For this treatment we apply the latest 3D technology on the market through specialized software, we work with the leaders of precise invisible aligners.

Comfortable
Invisible orthodontics allows you to speak comfortably, without scrapes or wounds.

Discreet
Being transparent no one will notice that you are wearing them, without feeling the need to hide your smile.

Hygienic
Being removable allows a complete cleaning of your mouth, without running the risk of retaining food.

Practical
Meal time will not be a torture, unlike braces, you can remove the aligners to eat, drink and brush your teeth.
Digitized invisible orthodontics
With the incorporation of the intraoral scanner for image capture, at Crooke & Laguna we have achieved a more comfortable, reliable and effective way of taking the records of a patient’s mouth to carry out the study prior to an orthodontic treatment. This methodology, in addition to being more comfortable for the patient, allows us to do the case study on the computer, and obtain a preview of the final results, to confirm that we will meet the patient’s expectations.
Today, invisible orthodontics can solve most cases of dental crowding or malocclusion.

FAQs about Invisible Orthodontics
It is a transparent, comfortable and removable orthodontic treatment. After conducting a study of models, photographs and radiographs, a virtual treatment planning is performed, which can be shown to the patient to have a preview of the final result. Depending on the movements to be made, a series of splints or aligners to adjust the teeth of each patient are manufactured, and they are replaced every 2 weeks. Depending on the case, a greater or fewer number of aligners will be required, varying the cost of treatment depending on this.
These aligners are usually very comfortable and do not interfere with daily life, they need a minimum of 20-22 hours a day of use, they should only be removed to eat. The advantage is that aesthetically they are almost invisible, and that being removable, tooth brushing is easier than with conventional braces.
Once the first visit is done and the diagnostic records are made, it is necessary to take an impression or measurement of the patient’s mouth with a special material or scan the teeth which will help us to generate a virtual three-dimensional model with a treatment plan that will be approved by the Orthodontist and at the same time shown to the patient for his approval.
When this treatment plan is accepted, the manufacture of the aligners begins. It will be numbered from beginning to end, and will be installed by the Orthodontist and changed every two weeks. That means that every 15 days we will have new aligners, which will be completely transparent and force the necessary tooth movements, gradually, for the correction of the smile, seeing day by day the changes, straightening the teeth until the final correction.
Yes, in general virtually all malocclusions can be treated with invisible aligners, there are 2 basic limitations: the lack of anchoring (that means that there are few remaining teeth and additional anchoring with implants or micro screws), and the lack of collaboration on the part of the patient, since being a removable system the patient must be responsible and take the maximum number of hours a day.
The length depends on each patient and the type of bad occlusion. Some treatments can last only 6 months and some are a little more complex between 15-20 months.
There is no age limit to carry out this type of treatment, although we recommend this treatment in adults due to the importance of compliance with its use, which in children or adolescents is usually more complicated.
These aligners are transparent. No one will notice that you wear these virtually invisible aligners, which makes them seamlessly adapted to your lifestyle and your daily relationship with others.
Invisible aligners, as we already discussed, are removable. Unlike fixed metal braces, you will enjoy the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment just by removing the aligners. You can also remove your aligners to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would to prevent halitosis and maintain proper oral hygiene.
Unlike traditional fixed braces, there are no metal braces or wires. This means that, in most cases, you have to spend less time in the dental clinic for necessary adjustments to be made during treatment. Finally, invisible aligners allow you to view your virtual treatment plan and results even before treatment begins, so you can see what your teeth are expected to look like by the time treatment is over.
Some people may feel a little temporary discomfort during the first few days at the beginning of each new stage of treatment, by putting on a new aligner. This is normal and is usually described as a feeling of pressure. It is the sign that the aligners are working well, moving your teeth gradually and helping you achieve the desired final result. These discomforts usually disappear in a couple of days.
The best way to clean the aligners is by brushing and washing them in warm water or by using cleaning crystals or special tablets for cleaning. To maintain proper hygiene it is important that you brush your teeth after each meal and before putting the aligners back on.
It would be indicated in patients where we need a strong anchor for dental movement (for example when there are teeth included that have to be removed to the arch), or when the patient knows that he will not be responsible for wearing the aligners 22 hours a day, in which case it is better something fixed that does not depend on the compliance of the patient.
