What is the GBT protocol?
At Crooke and Laguna we are always thinking about the comfort of our patients. For this reason, in addition to Painless Anesthesia, we have the GBT Protocol (Guided Biofilm Therapy), a revolutionary protocol for cleaning, hygiene, dental prophylaxis, and all periodontal treatments in the most effective and painless way.
Cleanings can be painful if not done often.
In addition to the daily hygiene routine at home, it is necessary to complement it with professional cleaning, since biofilm and recent scales are very easy to remove with the appropriate technology.
This is how we make sure that 100% of the biofilm is eliminated.
What is the difference between the GBT protocol and traditional cleaning systems?
In addition to being minimally invasive and painless, and is capable of reaching all corners, such as:
- Interdental spaces, so it´s especially valuable for patients with misaligned teeth.
- Sensitive root surfaces.
- Pits and grooves.
- Orthodontic braces.
With the Protocol, we apply the AIRfLOW® PLUS, a precise combination of air, water at an adjustable temperature, and the exclusive erythritol-based powder, with which all the biofilm is eliminated, taking care of the teeth.
In some cases it will be necessary to complement the use of erythritol with the use of ultrasound and/or curettes in the areas with more stones or with more pocket depth, but for less time than in a conventional way.
Advantages of following the GBT Protocol
In this way, in addition to effective results, we achieve a pleasant treatment for the patient, since it is minimally invasive.
With GBT, Crooke & Laguna guarantees an effective elimination of the main cause of caries, gingivitis, periodontitis, mucositis, and peri-implantitis.
Removes stains on the enamel caused by the consumption of coffee, wine, or tobacco, are also eliminated, and it can be used on porcelain, resin, or any type of prosthesis or surface. This is because the particle is so thin that it does not scratch any material, but leaves it perfectly polished.
GBT follows the recommendations of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) on Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR) and Oral Hygiene Instructions (OHI) for Home Care.
